Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•You've probably met someone who has killed a person
61·13 days agoYeah. There judicial/extrajudicial murders. There is different levels of manslaughter / accidental killings and such. Then there are the different degrees of murder. Even the mislabeling of products hsve brought “manslaughter” charges…
Anyway, yeah, many many people are either directly, or indirectly related/responsible for someone’s death.
In a sense, by levels of separation, I am indirectly responsible for a couple different people’s death…
Its not something that someone would put blame on me, I mean, I used to party with a lot of people, these people died while “partying”… not while around me, or because of me, but I didnt discourage the “partying” these folks were doing.

Man, Id much rather have this conversation in person. But!
…bananas idea that God shows His love and approval by making one wealthy.
Things can get twisted, mainly because people are involved, and people can twist things for an agenda.
Ya see, wealth can be a by product of living rightly for God. Wealth isnt guaranteed to everyone that is a Christian or a good person. And also, having wealth isnt a sure sign that someone follows God, or is a good person even.
I believe, that if a person lives by Christian principles in work and business that they can be more likely to succeed. Being honest, frugal, diligent, respectful etc. Having such qualities can surely increase someone’s potential successfullness.
I have notes, but the “property gospel” is “on the money”. To turn a phrase.
Thank you so much friend! It isnt common to get such a glowing review around here :). Really put a smile on my face. 😁. (You didnt come off too harsh ;)
And amen let us be His shining light of love! Humbly and meekly of course.
I also hope you and those you love are safe and all get along lovely this season, keep politics off the table ;).

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does Lemmy have more freedom of speech than Reddit?
12·14 days agoNo… thats not really a thing here anyway. But yeah. I may have been totally banned several times, hearsay. I might get banned again just for saying that. Its usually shortly after I reveal some of my awesome political opinions… /s There really is only a couple handfuls of folks posting content too. Watch for P icarrd maneuver, p ugjebus, c owbea, and some others. They post shit all hours of the day constantly, to dozens of different instances like it’s their job… but they certainly aren’t getting paid.
No, I dont care about getting banned anyway, im going to speak my mind. Unfortunately, Marxist and commies dont usually agree with me and is usually the point of contention.

Cute, lame and pitiful.
I love it
Haha that funny
These are the kind of groups that capitalists systematically dismantled and replaced with profiteering megachurches.
I wanted to say something about this because it dont think this has ever happened? Can you give me an example?
People dont go to churches or give money to churches that they believe are profiteering. Ill concede that some large church’s have bad leadership who are greedy, no doubt. But if the congregation assumes something of the like, tithing and attendance is likely going to dry up.
Ok… going to back up, because what you said could be true maybe about the catholic church? or a different denomination maybe? What im talking about is non-denominational churches specifically.
Eck… yeah, I had to delete that last part now… you got me (rightfully) feeling convicted… I didn’t need to add that… so, thanks. That was my earthly flesh self saying that, I wouldnt even actually do that in RL. I probably subconsciously thought that would make me look cool around here.

21·15 days agoI think more people would like to ban 67 than this article realizes… it truly is insufferable at times.

Yeah, you may say that, and you might also be full of shit. To state so confidently that you know the the political affiliation of the majority around here is not only presumptuous, but also, quite ignorant…
