Dad kept the scifi magazines with Azimovs original short stories. Azimov was a very prolific writer. Dad also had many Tales from Gore. The book shelves literally slumped from the weight. I didn’t fully appreciate the monumental amount of concentrated history I was engulfed in…in my own house. An entire wall of books, magazines, journals(medical, philosophical, anthropological, linguistic, almanacs, etc etc.)

Grew up… realized some of the things I missed out on. Didn’t sleep on The Well World Series by Chalker though…lol

Dune was my go to scifi…now it’s popular and I feel like a hipster.

My dad got me into hard scifi, d&d, Tolkien…if I feel like a hipster, can’t imagine what he feels like.

I think everyone should collectively decide to hold Halloween 2 days after Halloween so everyone can get in on that reduced price candy.

Takes the sting out of inflation a little bit and everyone still gets their good time in.

I hate that I agree with this.

Humans can be so much more than violent cavemen, but we aren’t there quite yet.

Had this conversation with my brother the other day…I’m all for Linux gaming and he is staying with windows because learning something new is antithesis to his having fun. I totally get it.
