We literally made a law that says bartenders and restaurants can’t refuse to serve alcohol to pregnant women if they order it. While not based on religion, I feel like this sets a pretty strong precedent.

And when California passes regulations, they often end up being adopted nationally, because most companies want to sell their products in the large market that is California but don’t want to have to differentiate their product or service for different states.
