Sins of a Solar Empire. It’s a space based strategy game that I’ve sunk hours into. years ago I used to have really shotty internet so it would go down all the time. I’d play that game for 8 hours a pop easily and the time would just fly by. I’m not even a big strategy gamer but I adored that game.

do americans still pay mostly in cash? we haven’t had the penny since like 2012 here in Canada and…it wasn’t a big deal at all because no one paid with pennies anyways. if something is $8.23 as stated then you just pay $8.25 if you’re paying cash. But hell most people just pay debit or credit these days to the point where most CSRs just assume you’re paying debit and if you whip out cash it confuses them and they have to cancel the debit machine.

I can’t even remember the last time I drew out cash or had it on me.

watched a video yesterday of agents going into a god damn daycare and pulling out a caregiver who was screaming. a god damn daycare.

all the while people are standing by filming and I just felt an incredible amount of rage at watching it. I’m not even american and I was angry. This poor woman was screaming and crying and being dragged out of a fucking daycare centre begging for her life.

If I were a parent and I saw either of these things happening first hand I would go ballistic. And with all the stories going around now of people posing as ICE agents to rob and sexually assault women how do I know these fuckers arn’t one of them?

it blows my mind that there’s no body count on ice agents yet. I’m honestly surprised no one has shot at them.

2001 or 2011.

2001 easily had the most games that were highly rated and as others have said you some real classics. The PS2 was hitting it’s stride, the original Xbox Launched, and the Gamecube was right there.

2011 also had some damn amazing games: Arkham City, Portal 2, Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat 9, Starcraft II, Bastion, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 to name a few.

They’ve been poking the bear for a while now and the bear continues to sleep. It’s either because a good chunk of Americans are wise to their scheme OR a good chunk of Americans are too lazy or afraid to do anything about it. ICE, deploying the National Guard to various places, political assassinations and attempts, potential hunger riots, etc, etc, etc and non of it has worked.

It’ll be interesting to see exactly WHAT results in Americans saying “enough is enough” but at this point…I don’t think there’s anything that will do that.

it’s so incredibly frustrating reading americans thoughts on this stuff. like you just stroll over to virtually any reddit thread regarding anything the administration is doing and it’s always “this must be illegal” or “it’s happening” and what have you. Like they still don’t get it. “I can’t believe they’re doing what they said they were going to do, I hope someone stops them” - proceeds to keep doom scrolling.

And then you have the democrats that insist the system isn’t broken, insist that if they continue to play by the rules than the other side will also eventually decide that the rules should be followed…no, that’s not how this work. A cheater doesn’t suddenly have a come to jesus moment and thinks “you know…I really shouldn’t cheat anymore.”

honestly it’s better to just host your own private instance as if you want a lemmy and mastodon instance that others can also set up you not only have to admin it you also have to moderate it.

Also keep in mind it’s NOT just actual people signing up but you also have to deal with all the bots which WILL register en masse to your instances. a lot of people won’t mention this. bots flock to this stuff like flies on shit. It’s not worth it unless you plan on really dedicating the time to actively admin your instances.

I run Akkoma instead of Mastodon and Piefed instead of lemmy. both of which were easier to setup than mastodon/lemmy and less resource heavy.

The reality is americans don’t want to do that. none are actually willing to die for their country.

can’t speak for other countries but I can tell you first hand that Canada has REALLY soured on India and Indians. Many view Indians as exploiting student visas in order to gain PR status, an unwillingness to acclimatize to Canada, taking jobs and housing, etc. Also doesn’t help that a year or two ago a couple people working for the Indian government murdered a Sikh Canadian in BC thus many Canadians want nothing to do with India and were angry with Prime Minister Carney this past week after he tried to fix relations with India.

Well the Wachowskis have said in the past that The Matrix Online is canon as they wanted to hand the story of The Matrix over to the fans/players to do with it as they wished. They approved of Morpheus’ death in the game so I suppose that’s why it’s kinda vague in Resurrections as to how he died. Either because of the events of the game where he was killed by an assassin or simply from old age.

As far as how he was reborn in the movie he was basically “coded in” to a “Matrix Modal” by Neo and the Machines. Resurrections Morpheus was like a hybrid of Morpheus and Agent Smith. The whole explanation was the machines needed Neo to kind of remember but not quite fully remember that he was the One because it generated a lot of power for them combined with keeping Trinity in close proximity. So the Machines were kind of constantly dangling a carrot in front of Neos face. They also had to keep constantly changing his DSI (Digital Self Image) so the humans would have a hard time finding him.

So the Morpheus in Resurrections wasn’t the “real” morpheus but a program that had Morpheus’ “code”. that’s why he didn’t have a body in the real world because unlike Neo and Trinity there was no body to put him in.

I mean if you’re that gung ho to stay within the commonwealth then why the hell would you go to the UK to “avoid” social media ban to a place that is more strict? Why not move to Canada?
