These comments make it so clear no one is actually fighting for change they are fighting to go back to not caring about politics. Newsom will throw trans people under the bus and the blue maga will tell us that it’s better than what Trump was doing as he continues on the same path. He’ll kill homeless people by the thousands but it will be ok because at least it’s not trump.

Cognative disonance is a hell of a thing. It’s only ok to eat the “right” things with your hands and I would say most white people would not include burritos in that list. Are we really going to pretend that it hasn’t been a repeated attack on POC that when they eat with their hands it’s “uncivilized”? I’m not saying it’s rational or consistent I’m simply saying it’s a thing I’ve seen people in my personal life do and a thing a congressman got mocked for extremely recently.
How are Republicans so effective as a minority party then? Because people keep saying this ignoring that Republicans have “not had the numbers” within recent memory and been a lot more effective in getting the things that they want done still. Is it maybe because the corpo dems bend over fucking backwards to let the republicans do what the want e.g. Chuck Schumer lieing his ass off and saying they’ll get something they want then voting in a bill that had nothing dems want.
It’s partly that I’m sure and also to dehumanize them further. It’s not mentioned in the article but I would imagine they aren’t given silverware and have to eat with their hands. In american culture it is often seen as a lowly/animalistic thing to eat with your hands*. So they can continue to see them as not human because they “don’t eat like one”.

Don’t known don’t really care. A child is dead this isnt a “won’t somebody please think of the children” thing, multiple people have had complete mental breakdowns and will never be the same.
Idk I think if you make something that destroys mental health it becomes your responsibility to fix it.

You know just because a fascist says something doesn’t make it untrue right? Like always double check what they say but them saying it doesn’t make it untrue. The UK is following so much closer behind the US than some people want to admit. Hell half of Europe is still an elections away from ending up with a far right candidate. Now that Trump has been president for a bit I wonder how much of that immediate reaction you saw with Germany will continue.
