The insane thing about Bitcoin’s continued popularity is that out of all the thousands of cryptocurrencies out there, it’s easily the worst in every regard.
I’m not going to name names for fear of being called a shill, but if you want a cryptocurrency for just buying stuff there’s a ton that are more stable, faster, don’t cost a fortune to process, and don’t destroy the planet.

Part of me kind of wants these companies to stick to their guns. Once people start to find alternative payment methods for their adult content, maybe they’ll start using those methods for everything else as well and cut Visa, Mastercard et al out of their lives completely.
The degree of capitalist indoctrination is so thorough that these people can’t even conceive of something not turning a profit and still being of value.
Yeah, the govt spun the story of Abu Ghraib as being a few bad apples that didn’t represent American values. And of course it’s bullshit, because it’s so incredibly predictable what outcomes you will get from doing things like this. Torture and abuse are American values, because that is what America consistently and repeatedly engages in.
