Oh absolutely. The reason i preferred Windows over Mac when I was younger was being able to use what I want (in a general sense). If they did that, I’d immediately have jumped to Linux. And even though it didn’t happen, it just delayed the inevitable, as I’m migrating every piece of tech I own away from the Big Guys^tm.

As a fan of TF2, I’ll quote another greentext: “does nothing, competition keeps shooting themself in the foot.” It was about Overwatch vs TF2, but it’s mostly similar.

That’s generally how I follow it also. Though I add the stipulation that they’re enjoyable hours, and it’s not hardline. I know not every game can be measured that way. If it’s a particular genre or series, l might take the dive anyway. For indies, it goes even further than that. Some I track for years before release, so I pre-order as soon as it becomes available, just to support as much as I can. So $/hr is a good baseline, but it’s deeper than that.

I accept that I am a hypocrite when I get mad at slow drivers ahead of me. But I do drive according to driving laws, since that’s the best way to get money in an accident. My internal views don’t matter in court, but the law sure does.
