On Saturday, July 19th, we tragically lost a beloved soul, Marcela Herrera, in a hit-and-run accident near Ashland and Cullerton in the Pilsen neighborhood. At just 22 years old, Marcela was a radiant light in every room she entered—a lively and caring daughter, sister, niece, girlfriend, granddaughter, cousin, aunt, and friend.

She had just finished working and her fiancé picked her up to go for dinner when her life was tragically and senselessly taken. At the time of her passing, Marcela was also planning her wedding, excited to start a new chapter with her fiancé—who, heartbreakingly, was seriously injured in the accident as well.
