“President Donald Trump and Congress have invalidated the Clean Air Act waivers that were the basis for California’s actions,” said Adam Gustafson, acting assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s environment and natural resources division. “CARB must respect the democratic process.”
Democratic process? Trump and the DOJ dictating the law? Right.
It’s even worse when you consider that the Senate parliamentarian ruled that they couldn’t invalidate the waivers using the Congressional Review Act, and then they did it anyway.
Reminder that California doesn’t do this just because they’re a bunch of granola eating hippies. They do it because San Francisco used to have a constant yellow-brown haze over it.
