i’m sticking with my age guess … i can imagine cataclysmic catastrophes happening in the world before 2100.
the average length of human life will go down in my estimate by a bunch without contemporary medicine functioning as such.
Gosh I really hope it isn’t me
I’m early 50’s, 2100 is only 75 years away. I would 125-ish, not outside the bounds of possibility for a Gen Xer to still be kicking in 2100
I’d say probably older, some poor millennial will probably be 115 and asked what they think helped them live that long.
It’s the avocado toast
Still saving on that downpayment!
With the amount of plastic in our brains, we aren’t living to 115 lol
With the amount of microplastics in ours testicles some won’t even born (the lucky ones)
Agreed, I’m thinkin some poor 33-36 year old
…and still won’t be able to afford a house.
A woman aged 40 today at least, potentially a woman aged 60 today.
Basis for 40:
The oldest people currently alive are all women around 115 years old, so if nothing changes, that would imply a women aged 40 today will be 115 in 2100.Basis for 60:
Very old ages are tricky because so far, although we have dramatically increased the average lifespan, 120 has proven to be a hard barrier. We have a lot more people living to 116-118 years old, but as far as I know, only 1 person has been verified to live past 120.However, just consider the tremendous leaps in medical technology between 1925 and 2000, and then the exponentially increasing nature of information technology. Longevity increases have slowed but there is a tremendous amount of research around it, so statistically it is highly likely that the next jump in longevity will take place in the next 75 years.
There was a presentation at an actuarial conference around 10 years ago, where the estimate was that the first person to reach 150 was already 50 years old. That would imply they would be around 60 today, and 135 in 2100.
Or it goes the other way and in 2100 the oldes person alive is just 70.
Because we managed to destroy the climate and society and lost all advanced medicine in the process.
Well shit, that rules me out…
Or DOES it??? My sister is like 54 years old, and she says she’s going to live forever.
So either you can live to the year 2100, or my sister is a LIAR!!!
