So, I was dumbfounded by this recent exchange I had on lemmy, and feel it may be appropriate to share here.
Obviously, I do not condone or encourage any harassment of this person, I have blanked out all names but my own intentionally, in an effort to comply with this comm’s anti-harasment rules.
This is also why I will not be directly linking back to the actual post / comment chain.
Mods, if this sort of post is not acceptable or properly formatted, I fully understand it being removed or being reformatted.
It’s strange to me that this person defends the fake seat belt thing, but it doesn’t occur to them to just plug the real seat belt in, without even wrapping it around their cargo, if the cargo is triggering the occupancy sensor?
These people drive multi-ton vehicles on the road, meters away from pedestrians, but they’d struggle with a crossword.
e: that point was made in the last image lol
Yep, you got it, that is when I became completely dumbfounded, when… they were unable to conceptualize that.
It’s worse than you think, actually
Those fancy cars from the 80s are too safe for me, I’d rather fly through the window like God intended, and don’t let me get started on crumble zones…
Crumple zone!?
Ain’t no car need no crumple zone!
I gots my own rib cage and skull as a crumple zone, came stock, with no extra cost to the manufacturer!
hhhhhhwaawk pitooie
(i am joking, but I also literally have heard someone say this, entirely seriously)
Can afford fancy car with safety features… Can’t afford a washer/dryer or live in an apartment with washer/dryer facilities.
“Someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. My family is dying.”
Nice! But it would probably be better if you do drive a car, because as a pedestrian or a cyclist, you won’t be safe from this person, hehehe.
I try to take public transit or do some kind of carpool/vanshare type thing as much as possible.
Granted, I do not have a regular commute, so this is generally much less of an ongoing, day to day concern for me, but yeah.
I love driving cars, generally, to site see along beautiful and peaceful scenery, to race in a controlled environment, to do some offroading.
I hate driving cars regularly, surrounded by pissed off, inconsiderate, dangerous, inattentive morons.
Or put it in the boot?
