Terrence McBride's troubles began after he pulled up to the U.S. border. He told officials he’s an American citizen, but carries a Canadian passport. He said he was detained for about a day-and-a-half as officers questioned him and officers sorted through his files.
in his go fundme he states that he routinely goes up to Halifax to try and reconnect with his birth family but I don’t buy that. He says he’s unemployed so What I think happened was it wasn’t working out for him in the US, no job, no money, decides that hey he’s a Canadian by birth, doesn’t do his research, and decides to literally truck up here to see if he can make it work. Newsflash: it ain’t much better here.
So I don’t buy the whole reconnecting with family schtick. Also…He claims he’s a US citizen but has a Canadian passport…ok…he clearly KNEW he wasn’t an American Citizen. Why go through the trouble of obtaining a Canadian Passport? it would have been much easier and cheaper to get an American one IF he was American.
Chances are his adoptive parents DID go through the process to obtain him a green card and visa which would grant him a social security number THUS he’d be able to work, serve in the military etc, but the idiot never bothered or realize you HAVE to renew that shit. OR it was too expensive for him. So he didn’t.
But I god damn guarantee you he was well aware of the fact he wasn’t a US citizen.
