Welp, that’s a top 10 sign of a healthy democracy, if I’ve ever seen one.
This’ll probably get said a lot around here but the US isn’t a democracy and hasn’t really been one in the past. For instance; the US public overwhelmingly support universal healthcare but it never goes anywhere in the actual government.
We’re just witnessing an oligarchy transition into outright fascism because the US is failing.
This is true. The almighty founding fathers purposefully put in several requirements for somebody to vote, most only being removed relatively recently, and with far too much effort and blood. Essentially, in order to vote, a person had to be a landowner (have money), be white, and be male (might have been some other restrictions, can’t remember rn). This excluded much of the population, by design. This is because the Constitution was not designed by the filthy commoners, but by the wealthy older white men.
So what they accused Obama of doing in 2010, got it.
The strat is, always has been, and will continue to be:
- Step 1: accuse the enemy of doing the thing
- Step 2: do the thing
I have a MAGA family member who, when confronted with the possibility that detainees in El Salvador were already being mass culled, their response was that the democrats already did that with the covid vaccine.
Their base can’t be upset about anything Trump does, because they’ve been convinced that it has all already been happening in secret by the deep state for years. That is the strategy. They will live in an alternate reality up to the point that it directly affects their livelihood.
Back then we hadn’t fully realised how unrelentingly they project.
Instead of persuing rich tax cheats like himself, of course.
More opportunity for the left to file lawsuits and go after Trump and his billions!
All that lawyers need to realize is if they play by Roy Cohn’s own legal playbook - and viciously apply all the tactics he used… Trump will fold.
