  • Yep. I think this is the real problem right here. Whenever I’m producing my first pass at a music project, I do it on my laptop speakers or similar. That way I know the core idea of the track still works on basic speakers. I’ve tried going the other way and all that comes through is a melody if I’m lucky.

I also check in the car and on a crappy BT speaker after. The fact that they’re producing entire movies and shows without ever seeming to do a consumer audio check is just annoying.

  • I feel like a lot of people are missing the “with your life” part of this. While I’m sure I’d love to magically fix the world’s problems, to answer the actual question:

I’ve always pictured a house built into the side of a cliff face that’s right next to a road. The rock pulls away to reveal the garage whenever I’m nearby. I’d have just a few rooms, nothing too crazy. I’ve always loved the idea of an underground house. I’d also have a decent-sized workshop/garage for the many projects I’m always working on.

I’d also try starting my own business for the first time and I’d be curious to see how my skillset applies. I can’t bring myself to do it in today’s current situation.

That and a Lamborghini. Because why the hell not? That’s what fantasy is for.

All this comes with the disclaimer that I don’t have any kids.

  • For me, I will dog on any kind of retelling like this. If you’re not teaching anything new and are just retelling the story for profit, I don’t care about your story. There were no new story beats and no twists that caught me off guard.

When the movie was new, anytime you threw it shade, the first follow-up question was, “Well, did you see it in IMAX 3D?” That shouldn’t matter. If your story relies on visual gimmick to make it anything more than a reskin, I’m not interested.

I have the same feeling towards the live action Disney movies. They’re not adding anything new. I see about 5-10 new movies a year now compared to the 20-30 I used to because so little is not just a rehash of something from last year.
