Google it and you’ll see tons of websites telling this was faked.

E.g. that it’s highly illegal to stop a car on the road, contradictory information on tesla display (failed update and cease and desist, don’t go together. Also return to dealer while being disabled?), addressed name in letter is not the real name, hyphen in wrong place, etc. And tesla (obviously) claimed it’s false.

I’m not saying this is proof but saying there are a lot of red flags. Any update from him? Not that I could find. A stunt perhaps to gain publicity? Why not?

If I ever have to buy a car, I’ll either get a used one from the 00’s or look for a “dumb” one. The amount of power that manufacturers wield over our own devices that we bought and paid for these days is nauseating.

Dacia and Renault keep leadning the lists for privacy-compatible cars. Especially Dacia really has nothing that could be privacy-problematic. The only thing they have is the regulation-mandated SOS button.

I’ve got a relatively smart one, but I unplugged the fuse that connects the “smart” module which also connects it to the “mothership” (manufacturer).

Iirc most cars were on 3g till 2017-2018 ish, so it should be fine to get something new since the 3g networks shut down a couple years ago

Well it’s a crazy good thing nobody is able to edit video with cuts! And that getting a laser printer at home is highly illegal. And doing something to your vehicle pre trip and setting this marketing up for your career, also Impossible. Nobody in the history of vehicles has done anything like drain their oil to try and grab a free engine off warranty. Never. Not even once.

        Definitely 100% true.
