People under capitalism are so alienated from their work that they escape to something as mundane as Power Washing Simulator. Having a stable job with a modicum of satisfaction and control is a power fantasy nowadays.

That’s particular simulator game actually has you saving the world from some sort of Alien UFO time traveler conspiracy plot though doesn’t it? It’s not quite as mundane as some other simulator games like farming or truck driving sims.

I am telling you that there is proof video games effect people. Ever notice how most people born in the 80s grew up and all became plumbers? I mean sure all the competition has driven costs down for all of us and with just a little work you can find a plumber that will do the work for free, but a lot of these plumbers can no longer support their families and are forced to live in sewers and fight turtles for food.

Absolutely, here is RFK on Sept 10 saying they cause mass shootings. (Completely ignoring the ENTIRE WORLD OUTSIDE THE US)

      https://www.newsweek.com/rfk-video-games-mass-shootings-gun-violence-2127808

Also Congress has called for the leaders of discord, steam, Reddit and twitch to come and testify about extremism.

      https://www.engadget.com/social-media/house-committee-asks-discord-valve-twitch-and-reddit-to-testify-on-online-radicalization-184100470.html

I don’t see any of the social media heads who donated to Trump’s inaugural on that list.

Steam is very much connected to extremism. Far right extremisn to be precise.

Take a look at any Steam forum and you’ll see. The reason is because Valve hardly ever hires moderators and delegates responsibility to the developer who created the game the forum is about.

I think German speaking Steam has a total of two global (i.e. paid by Valve) moderators? Not sure where I’ve heard this though.

This actually true, even though I swear it didn’t used to be like that. There are sooo many far right people on the forums and in the discussions. I was looking up a game where one of the female characters has the option to date her female friend. I went to the discussion tab to see if anyone knew what choices you had to pick to unlock it. A whole bunch of trolls calling the game “woke” and disgusting for hating an OPTIONAL story arc. Even on games like Life is Strange, which isn’t a new game and is pretty well known for having lgbtq elements, tons of far right people gay-bashing in the discussions tab.

      right-wing nutjob

Didn’t he directly criticize Kirk as being hateful shortly before the shooting? Where’s this coming from?

Agreed that Steam is a really stupid place to be looking for anything of substance.

Well, maybe the fact that he left a negative review for a game he has over 2000 hours in signifies derangement on some level, if not political, lol.

Didn’t he directly criticize Kirk as being hateful shortly before the shooting? Where’s this coming from?

        He was an active groyper.

The Groyper War began in the fall of 2019, when Fuentes and his followers launched a social media campaign targeting Turning Point USA’s “Culture War” college tour, led by Charlie Kirk. Motivated by the firing of a Fuentes ally and other conflicts, Groypers disrupted college events by asking provocative questions on immigration, Israel, and LGBT rights to challenge mainstream conservative figures like Kirk, Donald Trump Jr., and Ben Shapiro, whom they labeled “Conservative Inc.” for deviating from their far-right views.

This is also why Ben Shapiro went into hiding shitting himself.

Groypers disrupted college events by asking provocative questions

This is pretty much the opposite of what Robinson did, so…what are you talking about?

Also, groypers didn’t criticize Kirk because he ‘spreads too much hate’—if anything, they think he’s not extreme enough. Another direct contradiction.

I think you’re believing what you want to believe, not what the evidence points to.

My only bias in the situation is not trusting cops, espescially Trumps justice department and Patel’s FBI.

If you look for any information outside of what the administration says and what the news repeats, you will see many people believe it was fabricated. People who are the same age as him say it doesn’t read plausible, people on the far right say it doesn’t sound like anything they have read, leftists say it sounds like no kid they have come across, people who study linguistics say it doesn’t match someone his age and the writing cadence is weird, especially someone who spent as much time online as him.

It’s just super fishy, and I would be skeptical no matter who was in charge. I think a healthy dose of skepticism is important in today’s environment. We will find out more when this comes up in court.

Nothing incompetent about it. Just evil this time.

They want a profile of the guy. They want to sell him as a left-wing extremist. They’ll outright lie about it if they have to–they mostly have already–but lies work better when they’re based on some level of truth.

You see, guns in video games, where nobody is hurt, are bad. Guns in reality are good.

It’s a bad example, the gun in this case was good. Would have been great if just aimed 15 cm higher.
